Ceasing Contributions

Are you allowed to stop contributing to the scheme?

Yes, existing members may suspend contributions to the scheme at any time – this is also known as “ceasing active membership”.

If you do wish to suspend contributions, please download and complete the Ceasing Active Membership form.

The completed form should then be returned to Danbro. You may send the original by post, or an electronic copy via email. If you send it electronically, please include the phrase, “I confirm that I personally submitted this instruction to cease active membership of the pension scheme.”

Please remember:

– ceasing contributions will mean that your pension funds will be smaller and your retirement benefits will be lower when you come to draw them
– you will still be subject to auto-enrolment legislation, which means that your contributions may be automatically re-started in futureCeasing Active Membership form

What happens to your existing funds?

There is no change to your existing funds. These will continue to be invested as normal and you will still have access to your account via the online portal.

Can contributions be re-started?

Yes, you may choose to re-start contributions at any time. These will be subject to the minimum payments required by auto-enrolment legislation and you can also choose to pay additional contributions.
